 Music Evangelist Price Harris was born in Tupelo, Mississippi. He graduated from Tupelo
High School in 1959 and attended Clarke College in Newton, Mississippi. While there his friends encouraged him to begin singing, and as a result of their encouragement, he was called to
the Hickory Baptist Church as music director. After completing his studies at Clarke College, he changed his major from history to music and transferred to William Carey College in
Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Price served as music director in several churches during the closing years of his college career. After graduation from William Carey College with a Bachelor of
Music degree, he was called to the First Baptist Church of Satsuma, Alabama. In April, 1969, he accepted a call from the Calvary Baptist Church in Shreveport
, Louisiana where he served until entering music evangelism in January of 1978. After returning to the staff of Calvary Baptist Church for more than eight years,
he entered full-time vocational evangelism again in August of 1991. He has averaged more than 30 revivals each year, and numerous concerts and
conferences. Each year Price gives four weeks to mission crusades.
Price is married to the former Ann Leonard from Bogue Chitto for more than 44 years. They continue to be active in the Calvary Baptist Church in Shreveport
where Rick Edmonds serves as Pastor. Dr. W. D. "Step" Martin was pastor of Calvary Baptist for 33 years before his retirement. Price does several meetings
with Bro. "Step" every year. They have worked together now for almost 40 years.
Price has produced a number of gospel recordings. Some of them are available
through his web site at dcw.net/phea. Ann and Price have two married children, Melodie and Jonathan. They are proud grandparents of six boys.
